Having a high body fat percentage can give even skinny people a podgy, soft look. Some people have a naturally slim build, but this doesn’t make them healthy or fit – to look fit, you should aim to lower your body fat percentage, whatever your starting point. Despite what people think, fat can be cut out quickly and easily with these top tips:
1. Cut Down on Carbs
Let’s get this straight; you should never, ever cut out carbs completely. However, you should cut down on them if you want to get rid of some of your body fat. Eating too many carbs is a surefire way to pile on those excess pounds. Make sure you earn your carbs by working out first, and always pay attention to portion sizes to make sure you aren’t eating too much. Fill up on vegetables and eat more protein to keep you going.
2. Use Plyometric Exercises in Your Workouts
Plyometric exercises are kind of ‘explosive’ workout movements. They are great for using in work out routines as they are the best exercises for torching fat. Not only will you burn lots of calories with these exercises, you should build strength and muscle definition too. Some examples include squat jumps and lunge jumps.
3. Lift Weights
Some people frown on lifting weights because they say they don’t want to put on size. However, you won’t necessarily put on size if you do it properly. You can lift weights, torch fat and calories, and get muscle definition without getting larger. Women are especially prone to thinking lifting weights will bulk them up, but they just don’t have the testosterone. Lifting weights is one of the best types of exercises for torching fat.
4. Only Do Cardio in HIIT Form
Forget long, boring sessions of cardio. Instead, only do your cardio in HIIT form. Hop on the treadmill or cross trainer and do 8-15 sprints. Sprint for 30 seconds, then rest for 30-seconds to a minute. Do this until you’ve completed all your sprints. You can then do a cool down if you wish. It’s a fantastic way to improve your cardio health, and you’ll continue to burn fat and calories long after you’ve finished.
5. Drink Coffee Before a Workout
By drinking coffee before a workout, you’ll feel ready to give it your all. Coffee has been proven to improve focus and performance during workouts, as well as the speed of the metabolism.
6. Drink Gallons of Green Tea and Lemon
Green tea and fresh lemon juice are a great way to cleanse your system and speed up your metabolism. The drink doesn’t contain much caffeine, so you don’t need to worry about your cortisol levels. Aim to drink at least 3 cups a day to really see results.
7. Be Consistent
If you’re not consistent with your efforts, you won’t see results. Too many people give up after a week or two because they haven’t seen instant results. If you’re doing everything right, you should see slight improvements within a month. Take pictures to monitor your progress!
See you next time!
